I’ll be watching WWDC 17 from AltConf next door. Looking forward to the keynote!

Satellite trucks lined up outside WWDC 17! Includes CNBC & CBS SF.

All-star panel at the AltConf screening of App: The Human Story!

PSA: SMS wasn’t made to be secure, and cell carriers are terrible with security! Don’t use SMS for login. Question companies that require it.

Cell carriers: step up your security game.

Service providers: allow Google Authenticator instead of SMS.

It’s 2017. This stuff matters.

Hello, WWDC – the WWDC 17 banners are going up in San Jose! 🎉

Wow. Right when I thought Nintendo might be getting the hang of online gaming! arstechnica.com/gaming/20…

Managed to get tickets to The Talk Show Live from WWDC 2017 before they sold out! Super excited!

Published my first custom IFTTT Applet! Their new Maker platform makes IFTTT much more useful and powerful.

SlingStudio looks pretty cool. It’s a shame I don’t have a use for it. I guess now we know why Slingbox hasn’t been getting much attention lately… www.myslingstudio.com/slingstud…

Things 3 from Cultured Code looks fantastic. The limitations of it worry me a bit, but I’m hoping I can integrate it into my workflow.

Hulu Live TV appears to be much better than YouTube TV. However, they are continuing the trend of TV apps that emphasize content over channel surfing. Those used to old TV paradigms may therefore find the app hard to navigate. That’s my first impression – more thoughts soon.

On iOS 10.3.1, changing an app’s icon only triggers a pop-up on some of my apps. Is anyone else seeing this?

For me, these apps never show a pop-up:

  • Narwhal
  • Hello Weather

And these always show it:

  • MLB At Bat
  • Overcast

If you enjoy Tetris, you won’t be disappointed by Puyo Puyo Tetris for Switch. Note that local multiplayer isn’t great – the controls were clearly built for d-pad, and playing with a control stick (Pro Controller or single Joy-Con) leads to lots of frustrating accidental input.

I’m really enjoying Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch! It’s great to have a portable Mario Kart game with no compromises. Online matchmaking needs some work but it’s very solid otherwise.
